Join me in congratulating Ryan Knotowicz Class of 2020 senior from Wayne Central High School! Mom informed me that he received an Advanced Regions Diploma and finished up on the honor roll. Throughout the spring semester of quarantining, this young man kept up a positive attitude and completed his senior journey. Now he's heading off to SUNY Polytechnic Institute to study Mechanical Engineering Technology. Phew! Way over my head!! Awesome job Ryan!

Ryan and his mom chose the Classic Session which allows for an hour on my wooded property. Hunting is one of his favorite things to do so we also incorporated some dramatic lighting in the woods for him to display his bow technique. I'm able to take advantage of some structures around my home to give a different feel beyond the "park-like" images too.

Quiet, but confident, Ryan did a terrific job. I know he'll be successful in all he chooses to do and I wish him the very best. I want to thank he and his mom for choosing Hayes Photography for their senior portrait needs.

Call me lucky, but I got to photograph two Russotti brothers for their senior portraits! Daniel was in the Class of 2019 and this is Matthew, graduated senior for the Class of 2020. He wanted a laid-back, relaxed session for his senior portraits so he chose the Classic which allows for an hour on my wooded property offering a nice array of natural environment backdrops as well as some structural ones.

With his winning smile and easy ways, we were able to get some great portraits! He wanted to incorporate the family pup, Ruby, which was super easy and adorable. As a lacrosse player, he knew he wanted a few shots in some of his gear. We did a simple set-up which made for some nice athletic poses and a more dramatic shot was edited into a black and white which really has impact.

Working at the high school gave me an opportunity to photograph a new event put into place to help honor the seniors during this difficult spring. The Senior Salute had the students and their families drive onto and through the property, picking up yearbooks, caps and gowns and waving, honking and shouting to teachers and staff who did the same right back at them! I got a few shots of Matthew and his family as he waved an Ohio State flag which is where he'll be attending school in the fall. The smiles on everyone's faces (and sometimes tears) warmed all of our hearts and gave much recognition to these deserving seniors. I'm so glad I was able to be a part of it.

Topping off the senior experience, we took a few minutes to add in a cap and gown shoot. I think it's a great way to round out the senior portrait experience and I would encourage all seniors to take advantage of this opportunity.

I can't thank the Russotti family enough for their business through the years. They're terrific people! I'm grateful and blessed to have gotten to know them, worked with them to create some wonderful photographic memories and look forward to hearing all about their future journeys. All my best Matthew at Ohio State and beyond!!!

Make sure to congratulate Matthew and thanks for visiting the blog.
