I was invited to photograph an exhibition of the Fame All-Stars Perfection team here in Rochester, NY the other night. The girls ranked high enough to secure a spot at the World's in Orlando, Florida! These ladies are athletes!!! I've photographed football, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, tennis and a number of other sports, but I'd never photographed cheerleaders in a routine quite like this one. There were more leaps, jumps and flips than I'd ever seen in a routine.
The team's been working months to perfect this routine and, I have to say, they're ready. Owner/Coach Genevieve Sullivan had so much praise for the girls and feels confident they'll succeed in Florida. Best of luck to the entire team. It was obvious by the turnout of friends and family that you've got great support and love to carry you all the way there and back!
An update on the outcome of their time in Orlando...the team did a phenomenal job scoring 198.43! Unfortunately, this didn't win them a Top 10 to advance to the semi-finals, but they had the highest score for level 5 of teams from New York!!! Congrats to all the girls and their coaches!
