We All Have a Story, Stephanie: Rochester, NY Portrait Project

Working with Stephanie was a joy!  This young woman is intelligent, vibrant, loves life and all there is to do in it.  I could have put so many more arms of interest in this image, but you know what they say. Never enough arms, never enough time!  Lol!! Right from the start, Stephanie was ready for anything and the more we talked about her stories, the quicker I realized that we couldn't narrow it down and I wanted to have some fun as well.  Like I said, she was willing to try anything so we did have some fun in the studio and then it was up to me to deal with the post-production.  I learned a lot with this particular image.  Even though I did a lot of pre-production visualizing, I learned how I would shoot it better next time, but isn't that true of anything new you do?!  I've also included another image that didn't run in the exhibit, but is a lovely portrait of this wonderful woman who deals with the idea of Torque on a daily basis.

In her words:

"Torque is a force that causes a rotation. When torques acting on an object are balanced, an object is in equilibrium. I have many interests and hobbies that create equilibrium in my life. Fitness is a big aspect of my life. Working out and competing allows any aggressions that have built up during the day to disappear. I find relaxation when I am cooking and baking in the kitchen. My jewelry making, knitting, and photography allow my creative self to come out while my teaching allows for my technical side to appear. Each creates a torque in a different direction, but when they are all added together, I become balanced. Without one of these aspects in my life, I begin spinning out of control."
